Y S Bharathi, wife of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, is likely to jump into electoral politics soon, if the talk going on in the party circles is to be believed.
According to party sources, Jagan is planning to rope his wife into politics and field her from Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency in the coming elections.
However, it is subject to the development that Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu fields his minister Adinarayana Reddy in the Kadapa parliamentary elections.
Adinarayana Reddy was elected on YSRC ticket from Jammalamadugu constituency amd later defected to the TDP to become a cabinet minister.
This time, however, is facing a stiff competition from his arch rival P Ramasubba Reddy, who lost to him in the previous elections. Ramasubba Reddy is firm on contesting again only from Jammalamadugu.
Naidu has been desperately trying to bring about a compromise between Adinarayana Reddy and Ramasubba Reddy, but in vain.
He suggested that Adinarayana Reddy contest from Kadapa parliamentary constituency, as he is the only person who can give a tough fight to YSRC in Kadapa.
If Adinarayana agrees to contest, then sitting YSRC MP from Kadapa Y Avinash Reddy (who resigned from his post demanding special category status) will have to face tough battle and Jagan does not want to take any such risk.
That is precisely why Jagan is planning to field Bharathi in a strategic move.
The people of Kadapa cannot think of voting against her if she contests and then, war would be completely one-sided!
