Jana Sena, though still a relatively young player in Telugu politics, has made its priorities clear: discipline comes first. Regardless of whether someone is a senior leader or a grassroots worker, anyone who violates party rules will face strict action.
In the past, the party has not hesitated to suspend members for misconduct. The latest case involves Karri Mahesh, a local activist from Machilipatnam.
On Sunday night, Mahesh allegedly stopped a home guard on duty and physically attacked him. The incident was captured on video, which quickly went viral the following morning.
Bandi Ramakrishna, Jana Sena’s Machilipatnam coordinator, immediately informed the party leadership. Acting on instructions from the high command, he announced Mahesh’s suspension from the party.
Speaking to reporters, Ramakrishna noted that while a full inquiry is still pending, the video evidence and the home guard’s statement were sufficient to justify swift action.
He also emphasized that party chief Pawan Kalyan has zero tolerance for behavior that tarnishes the party’s image. In earlier incidents in Tirupati and Rajahmundry, Pawan Kalyan personally ordered suspensions to maintain discipline.
“These firm measures are crucial,” Ramakrishna said. “They reflect Jana Sena’s commitment to honesty, accountability, and discipline in politics.”
