Vintage DSP Is Back for Ustaad Bhagat Singh

The Devi Sri Prasad that Telugu audiences once knew feels very different from the composer we see today. Though he still dominates the industry and commands one of the highest paychecks in South cinema, it has been quite some time since DSP delivered a truly vintage album—one filled with that perfect blend of class-and-mass songs and a powerhouse background score capable of elevating key sequences to another level.

While he played a crucial role in the massive success of Pushpa 2, his contribution was overshadowed by controversy, with speculation that he hadn’t completed the re-recording on time. And though Thandel and Kuberaa earned him appreciation earlier this year, many felt his old magic was still missing.

But now, the first single from Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Dekhlenge Saala, has struck like lightning. The song instantly turned into a chartbuster because the tune carries that unmistakable vintage DSP vibe—a lively, foot-tapping rendition with catchy lyrics, reminding listeners of the golden era when his albums made the entire nation groove.

Fans are now hopeful. With Harish Shankar and Pawan Kalyan teaming up again after their cult blockbuster Gabbar Singh, expectations around the album of UBS have skyrocketed. DSP’s energetic tunes and whistle-worthy background score were key highlights of Gabbar Singh, and this first single strongly hints that he may finally be regaining his mojo.

If DSP delivers his trademark massy, electrifying score, Ustaad Bhagat Singh could ignite massive euphoria at the box office.
