Samantha in Talks for Vetrimaaran–Simbu Film ‘Arasan’
If industry sources are to be believed, star actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu is currently in discussions for a major Tamil project titled Arasan. She has reportedly been offered the female lead in this intense action drama, which is said to feature Silambarasan (Simbu) in the lead role. However, nothing has been finalised yet. “Talks are on with the makers, but there is no official confirmation so far,” a source revealed.
The film is expected to be directed by acclaimed filmmaker Vetrimaaran, known for his hard-hitting and critically acclaimed films such as Visaranai and Asuran. “Samantha has immense respect for Vetrimaaran’s craft, but she is carefully evaluating her options before taking a call,” the source added.
Meanwhile, Samantha has resumed work after her marriage to Raj Nidimoru. The teaser of her upcoming Telugu film Maa Inti Bangaram has already created strong buzz. In the film, she will be seen in a powerful, author-backed role as a housewife with a mysterious past.
Samantha made her Tamil debut with Baana Kaathadi and later shared screen space with top Kollywood stars like Vijay (Theri, Kaththi), Vikram (10 Endrathukulla), and Suriya (Anjaan). However, it was Ye Maaya Chesave that firmly established her as a leading actress in Tollywood, where she went on to dominate the industry. Over the past 15 years, Samantha has successfully balanced her career between both Tamil and Telugu film industries, continuing to remain one of the most sought-after actresses.
