That’s exactly how the beautiful bond between Jr. NTR and actor Rajeev Kanakala began. Two actors from different generations, separated by nine years in age, but connected by a sense of mutual respect and unexpected warmth.
Their first meeting happened during the shoot of Student No. 1. Rajeev fondly recalls how a young Jr. NTR was unusually formal. “He kept calling me ‘Sir’ again and again, until I finally asked him to stop,” he laughs. “The next day, it was ‘Rajeev’… then ‘Rajeev garu’… and finally, just ‘Raja’. When he called me that, I knew something had shifted between us.”
That small shift marked the beginning of a friendship that didn’t need big gestures. During a casual break on set, NTR shouted “Oh Raja!” from the top of a building, catching Rajeev completely off guard. That spontaneous moment opened the door to a heartfelt conversation—just the two of them. “He opened up, I opened up… and suddenly, it wasn’t just about acting or cinema. It became personal,” Rajeev said.
Over the years, life moved on. Schedules got tighter, responsibilities grew, and priorities changed. Jr. NTR is now juggling back-to-back shoots and a growing family. But true friendships don’t rely on daily messages or constant contact. Some settle quietly into the heart—and stay there.
Rajeev Kanakala never expected this connection. But today, he’s thankful it blossomed the way it did—natural, genuine, and unforgettable.
