New Delhi: Telugu superstar Jr NTR has officially wrapped up filming for the much-anticipated action thriller “War 2”, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film stars Hrithik Roshan reprising his role as RAW agent Major Kabir Dhaliwal, along with Kiara Advani in a key role. The film is slated for a grand theatrical release on August 14, in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil.
Sharing the news with fans on Monday evening through his Instagram story, Jr NTR expressed his excitement and gratitude for being part of the high-octane project.
“And it’s a wrap for #War2! So much to take back from this one… It’s always a blast being on set with @hrithikroshan Sir. His energy is something I’ve always admired. There’s so much I’ve learned from him on this journey,” NTR wrote.
The RRR star also praised director Ayan Mukerji, calling him “amazing” and crediting him for setting the stage for what he described as a “big surprise package” for audiences. He extended thanks to the YRF team and the film’s crew for their dedication and hard work, saying, “Can’t wait for all of you to experience this high on August 14th!”
“War 2” is part of the expanding YRF Spy Universe, which includes blockbuster hits like Salman Khan’s “Tiger” series and Shah Rukh Khan’s “Pathaan”. The film promises to feature six high-stakes action sequences shot across five countries over a span of 150 days.
The next film in the YRF Spy Universe is “Alpha”, featuring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, continuing the studio’s ambitious multi-hero espionage franchise.
With Jr NTR’s pan-India appeal and Hrithik Roshan’s action prowess, War 2 is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of 2025.
