Newly appointed Rajya Sabha MP Kamal Haasan has joined the ranks of actors who have transitioned into politics. Recently nominated by the DMK party from Tamil Nadu, Kamal took his oath and soon after met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He shared a photo from the meeting on his social media, marking the occasion.
In his tweet, Kamal expressed his honor at meeting the Prime Minister and highlighted key requests he made, especially urging the government to accelerate the recognition of the ancient Keeladi civilization. He emphasized the importance of showcasing Tamil Nadu’s rich heritage and the timeless legacy of the Tamil language to the world.
The image of Kamal Haasan with Prime Minister Modi has gone viral, with many intrigued by the contrasting personalities of the two leaders.
Earlier, Kamal had sparked controversy with his statement that “education is the only weapon capable of breaking the chains of dictatorship and Sanatana,” which drew criticism from the Tamil Nadu BJP. The party even called for a boycott of his upcoming films.
Despite these political tensions, Kamal’s cordial meeting with Prime Minister Modi underscores the need for leaders to rise above ideological differences and work together for the welfare of the people.
