Kamal Haasan Urges Mnm Office Bearers To Work Seriously Or Quit!

Tamil Nadu is gearing up for the local body elections. The forthcoming elections are making many heads turn as the elections are coming months after the commencement of the General elections in the state.

As the elections mark the first elections since the general elections, the political parties have taken the elections prestigiously and kept themselves busy in making plans for the polls.

Actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan held a meeting with the office m bearers on the upcoming elections and called for seriousness in their work.

Reports say that Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan had appealed to the office bearers to work seriously or else they can quit.

Addressing the district secretaries of the MNM party, Kamal Haasan urged them to take the party management seriously. There should be no negligence in the efforts, Kamal Haasan reportedly said.

The party should be strengthened by the root level. Eligible candidates should be appointed in the positions that are vacant. The party should strengthen at all levels, Kamal Haasan said.

“Everyone should do their bit in strengthening the party. We can win the local body elections only if the party gets strengthened institutionally. The winning horses should be identified and given chances. Those who can’t do this can leave the party,” Kamal Haasan told the office bearers.

“A time of 70 days was given to the office bearers to strengthen the party. The district secretaries should submit a report on the work they have done to the main office once in 20 days. Each secretary will look after two Assembly constituencies,” Kamal Haasan added.

Veteran actor Kamal Haasan has floated his Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) and a few candidates have fought the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. But none of the candidates have managed to win the elections.

Kamal Haasan ventured into electoral politics and contested the general elections in 2021. He had lost the Coimbatore South constituency. In the last round of votes, Kamal Haasan lost to BJP leader Vanathi Srinivasan by a margin of 1,728 votes. Kamal Haasan entered an alliance with Sarath Kumar’s All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi and Indhiya Jananayaga Katchi.
