The highly anticipated trailer of The Bengal Files was unveiled in Kolkata on August 16. Directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri and produced by Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi, and Agnihotri himself, the film delves into Bengal’s turbulent political history. Drawing from real-life testimonies and incidents, it highlights episodes of violence that the makers claim have largely remained unaddressed in mainstream narratives.

The trailer features striking lines like “Yeh Pachim Bangal hai, yaha do constitution chalta hai,” emphasizing the film’s focus on communal and political divides. The ensemble cast includes Mithun Chakraborty, Pallavi Joshi, Anupam Kher, Simratt Kaur, and Darshan Kumarr. This project marks Agnihotri’s continuation of his Files trilogy, following The Tashkent Files and The Kashmir Files.

With stark visuals of conflict and tension, the trailer raises challenging questions about whether communal politics continues to shape India decades after independence. Agnihotri described the film as “a roar that Bengal will not become another Kashmir,” while Pallavi Joshi praised it as powerful cinema rooted in truth.
