Megastar Chiranjeevi has once again reaffirmed his unparalleled box-office dominance with the sensational success of his Sankranti release Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu. Despite stiff competition during the festive season, the film emerged as a clear winner, shattering multiple first-week records and becoming the first major blockbuster of 2026.
Riding high on this triumph, Chiranjeevi is wasting no time before moving on to his next venture. The legendary actor is now gearing up to commence work on ‘Mega 158’, to be directed by Bobby. This project marks their second collaboration after the massive 2023 Sankranti hit Waltair Veerayya, which went on to storm the box office.
According to reliable industry sources, the formal launch of the yet-untitled film is scheduled for the last week of this month, with regular shooting expected to begin immediately thereafter. Given that Sankranti has consistently brought good fortune to Chiranjeevi—with back-to-back hits like Waltair Veerayya and Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu—the makers are reportedly eyeing a Sankranti release next year for Mega 158.
The film’s concept poster, unveiled on Chiranjeevi’s birthday last year, generated tremendous buzz. Featuring a blood-stained axe slicing through a wall, the striking visual hinted at a full-fledged, high-octane action saga packed with intensity and violence. The powerful tagline, “The Blade That Set the Bloody Benchmark,” further amplified expectations among fans and cinephiles.
Mega 158 will be produced by Venkata Narayana and Lohith NK under the KVN Productions banner, marking their maiden Telugu production. Details regarding the cast and technical crew are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
