India has not registered a single win in the recently concluded Carlton Mid tri-series in Australia. The Indian squad is currently resting in Australia before the big event World Cup begins from February 14th. There were reports that BCCI has made arrangements in a five star hotel so that players can have fun and enjoy.
For this even wives and girlfriends of cricketers have been granted permission by BCCI. This led to a storm online accusing BCCI of allowing players to indulge in fun rather than concentrate on the big games coming ahead. This forced BCCI to issue a clarification.
BCCI said there is no truth in the reports and BCCI has not made any such arrangements. Former India captain Kapil Dev speaking at a ‘Cricket Conclave’ organized by News24 responded to a question on Virat Kohli blowing kiss to Anushka Sharma. He said he is fine with Kohli’s style of celebration as long as he performs on the field.
He said, “If Virat Kohli scores a century and then blows a kiss towards his girlfriend, I have no problems. Rather I have problem if a player scores zero and is blowing a kiss. We played cricket in a different era and now its a different era. We have to accept that.”
