Urvashi Rautela Apologizes After Controversial Interview on Saif Ali Khan

January 18, 2025

Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaj has made a massive impact, crossing ₹100 crore in gross within just a week and quickly becoming a big hit with the masses. Despite fierce competition during the Sankranti season, the film has cemented Balakrishna’s hold over his audience. Urvashi Rautela, who played a police officer in the film, has expressed her joy over the film’s success. Although her role had limited screen time, her glamorous performance and captivating presence, particularly in the song Dabidi Dibidi, have gained considerable attention. Social media has been abuzz with praise for her dance moves. Earlier, she had also showcased her dancing skills alongside Chiranjeevi in Waltair Veerayya’s Where’s the Party.

While Daaku Maharaj continues to enjoy success, Urvashi Rautela found herself in the spotlight for the wrong reasons after a recent interview. During a conversation with a Mumbai journalist, she was asked about her thoughts on the attack on Saif Ali Khan. While she briefly expressed her sadness and wished him a speedy recovery, she quickly steered the discussion towards the lavish gifts her parents gave her in celebration of the film’s success, including a Rolex watch and a diamond ring.

This shift in focus did not sit well with netizens, leading to a viral backlash for seemingly disregarding the serious topic of Saif’s attack in favor of discussing personal gifts. Realizing her mistake, Urvashi took to Instagram to issue an apology, acknowledging that she had unintentionally diverted the conversation and asking for forgiveness. She also expressed her hope that her apology would reach Saif Ali Khan.

This isn’t the first time Urvashi has faced controversy. Previously, she was caught in a misunderstanding involving Telugu memes, not fully grasping their context. While she appears to be basking in the success of Daaku Maharaj, this incident serves as a reminder for her to be more careful in future interviews and public interactions. She is likely to approach her responses with more thoughtfulness going forward.
