TRS MP K Kavitha accepted the challenge of BJP leaders for an open debate on central assistance to Telangana.She said that the Centre had given only Rs 1,500 crore during the last two years and ready for discussion on the subject.
Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter condemned the statements of BJP president Amit Shah for stating that Centre gave Rs 90,000 crore to Telangana. She alleged that the Centre did not even allocate half the funds that were given to Andhra Pradesh.
Kavitha said that the Centre gave Rs 700 crore under drought assistance and Rs 450 crore as grant under BRGF and remaining in the form of small schemes. She refuted allegations that the Telangana government was not supporting the Centre. She said that the Telangana government has approached the Centre on issues like AIIMS and ITIR.
