Kalvakuntla Kavitha, the younger daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), has stirred up a political storm with a string of explosive statements regarding the internal affairs of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS).
The former Member of Parliament alleged a covert attempt to merge BRS with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), a move she claims to have firmly opposed. “There is a clear conspiracy to hand over BRS to the BJP. This proposal was brought to me while I was in jail, and I stood against it. I will continue to oppose it. Even if it means staying in jail for a year, I will not support such a move,” she declared.
Kavitha further alleged that these attempts are being made via senior political leaders, indirectly mentioning TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu. She questioned the weakening of the party and hinted at internal sabotage, saying, “Who is making BRS weak? Are there BJP coverts inside the party? Who inaugurated hospitals linked to BJP leaders?”
Addressing the lack of a grassroots strategy in the face of legal notices issued to KCR, she criticized the leadership for having no action plan in place. She also voiced concerns over covert operations within the party. “There are definitely covert forces at play. KCR needs to be protected, and those working against the party from within must be identified and stopped.”
Taking a direct swipe at her critics, Kavitha added, “I am being targeted by paid artists and paid social media campaigns. But the party has remained silent. I’m the daughter of this party, yet no one is speaking up for me.”
Her comments have sent ripples across the Telangana political landscape, sparking speculations that she might exit BRS and float her own political outfit in the near future.
