Kavitha Defends KTR, Slams ACB Notice in Formula E Case

Despite ongoing speculations about tensions between Kalvakuntla siblings K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and K. Kavitha over party affairs, the BRS MLC came out strongly in defense of her brother today. Reacting to the Anti-Corruption Bureau’s (ACB) latest notice to former Telangana minister KTR in the Formula E case, Kavitha accused the Congress-led state government of political vendetta.

Addressing the media, Telangana Jagruti President Kavitha stated, “The ACB notice served to our working president is nothing but a clear case of political revenge by the Revanth Reddy government. We strongly condemn this move. Regardless of how many conspiracies the Congress party tries to orchestrate, we will continue to expose their failures before the public.”

The ACB, in its fresh summons, has directed KTR to appear for questioning on June 16 at 10 AM in connection with the Formula E investigation. This follows an earlier notice issued on May 26, which KTR could not attend due to prior international commitments in the US and UK. With his return to Hyderabad, the ACB has now reinitiated the summons.

The Formula E race project, one of KTR’s flagship initiatives during his tenure, has come under scrutiny with allegations of corruption. Along with KTR, senior IAS officer Arvind Kumar has also been booked in the case. KTR had previously appeared before the ACB twice in January and was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on January 16.

The political heat around the case is expected to intensify as KTR faces another round of questioning, while the BRS continues to allege political motives behind the investigation.
