The stage is all set for the possible launch of a new political party in Telangana by BRS leader K. Kavitha, daughter of former Chief Minister KCR. Kavitha is reportedly preparing to float her own political outfit and is aiming to contest the next Telangana Assembly elections, scheduled for 2028.
As part of the groundwork, Kavitha has already begun building the party’s foundation by constituting as many as 32 different committees. These committees have been entrusted with studying various political, administrative, and governance-related aspects in the state.
Kavitha stated that special committees have been formed to analyze the failures of both the BRS and Congress governments that ruled Telangana after its formation. Other committees have been tasked with studying the constitutions of existing political parties and drafting a highly democratic constitution for the proposed new party. In addition, the committees will examine 32 key issues, including water resources, financial management, and government appointments.
She instructed committee members to conduct field-level studies and submit detailed reports to the Steering Committee by the 17th of this month. The Steering Committee is headed by Working President Roop Singh. Based on its findings, the Jagruthi organization will convene a state-level executive committee meeting to take further decisions regarding the party’s future course.
While intellectual preparation and structured planning are clearly underway, Telangana politics is largely driven by sentiment, grassroots connection, and political instinct. It remains to be seen whether Kavitha can effectively connect with the masses and translate this groundwork into electoral success over the next three years.
