In what is being viewed as a strategic political move, Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha appears to be preparing the ground for her son Aditya to enter public political life. Kavitha, who is set to launch her own political party soon and embark on a state-wide tour next week, showcased her son’s involvement during the recent Telangana Bandh advocating BC reservations.
Although Kavitha has not formally announced Aditya’s entry into politics, his active participation in the Khairatabad protest signaled that he may play a larger role in the future. Aditya joined Telangana Jagruthi members in holding placards, raising slogans, and interacting with activists, displaying confidence, ease, and approachability — qualities political observers say are indicative of deliberate grooming for public life.
Since distancing herself from her father K. Chandrashekar Rao’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), Kavitha has been working independently through her cultural and social organization, Telangana Jagruthi. Analysts suggest that bringing Aditya into the limelight may be a calculated step to position the next generation of her family in Telangana politics, especially amid her strained relationship with KCR over leadership and the direction of BRS.
Current indicators suggest that when Kavitha announces her political party, Aditya is likely to play an active role in youth mobilization, helping build a base for her emerging political platform.
