Former Telangana CM and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) is facing criticism for attending the Assembly briefly and leaving within minutes. Congress leaders accused him of coming only to mark attendance, without actively participating in debates.
Adding to the debate, his daughter and BRS leader Kalvakuntla Kavitha made strong remarks, warning that if KCR does not attend the Assembly properly, the future of BRS could be at risk. She stressed that when mistakes occur, KCR should be present in the House to answer questions. Kavitha also cautioned leaders like Harish Rao and others against abandoning the Assembly or wasting valuable House time, sharply questioning Harish Rao’s role. At the same time, she criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for using language against KCR that she described as inappropriate and offensive.
On another front, Kavitha recently met the Legislative Council Chairman regarding her resignation as MLC and from BRS, which she had submitted on September 3. Since her resignation is still pending, she reportedly requested permission to speak in the Council before it is formally accepted. She intends to raise issues related to the Palamuru Rangareddy project and said she is ready to provide all evidence to the SIT if summoned.
Political circles are now closely watching how the Council Chairman will respond to Kavitha’s request.
