Union Government’s decision to change the name of Shamshabad Airport domestic terminal from Rajiv Gandhi to NTR led to heated discussion in Telangana assembly. Telangana CM KCR passed a resolution opposing name change saying he will oppose naming of the airport after a Andhra leader and is ok if the airport is renamed after Telangana greats or even late PM PV.Narasimha Rao.
This invited furious criticism from TDP ldears. T TDP leader Peddireddy fired on KCR saying former CM NTR himself presented life to current CM of Telangana KCR and Congress leader Jeevan Reddy. He said now the same duo are opposing NTR’s name stooping to play petty politics. Peddi Reddy said as a mark of respect for NTR, CM KCR named his son as Taraka Ramarao.
He said since KCR is now hating and loathing NTR, he should first change his son’s name and then talk anything against him. He said late NTR is respected and adored by all telugu people and while India got independence in 1947, Telugu people got freedom only in NTR’s regime.
