The by-elections for the Huzurabad constituency have become the talk of the town, and the most interesting aspect in Telangana politics right now, way before there are even six months for the elections. Chief Minister KCR is leaning no stone unturned to make sure that the TRS wins the by-elections, as winning the Huzurabad by-elections is going to be a lot more prestigious for him than winning any other by-polls, given that Etela Rajender is expected to be the BJP’s candidate for these by-polls.
KCR is said to be sanctioning crores of funds to the Huzurabad constituency, for developmental works, and is also said to be considering turning the constituency into a district. While the CM continues to go ahead with the same old formula, new ideas are also said to be implemented in the constituency.
During the Dubbaka, Huzur Nagar and Nagarjunasagar by-elections also, several promises were made, and several hundreds of crores were announced as funds for the development of those constituencies. However, there has been only silence from the government since then, and even the people seem to have forgotten the government’s promises. Considering this, it has now to be seen if the public will believe the government’s promises this time around.
In the case of Huzurabad though, the TRS government is said to be intent on completing several developmental works before the by-elections, and KCR is said to be present for some of them. Already, Rs 35 Crores have been announced for Huzurabad Urban Development, Rs. 10 Crore for drinking water services, and Rs. 25 Crores for developmental works in the wards. Minister Ganguly Kamalakar has even announced that all of these works would be completed within 45 days. The government is said to deploy all of its services to the Huzurabad constituency until the end of the by-elections.
