KCR is confident of TRS improving its performance in Hyderabad in the ensuing Assembly polls to be held on December 7.
KCR is convinced that about 20 lakh votes of Seemandhra people in Hyderabad out of a total of 40 lakh would vote for TRS in Assembly polls and that TRS would bag the majority of the seats this time.
KCR’s calculation is based on a survey done by two independent agencies.
The survey revealed that 90 per cent of the Seemandhra people are happy with the functioning of TRS government and also with KCR for ensuring their safety and security during the past four and half years.
However, half of the Seemandhra voters want to vote for TDP-Congress combine because they want the party of their region (TDP) to be their voice in Telangana Legislative Assembly.
The survey revealed that Seemandhra settlers voted one-side for TRS in GHMC elections, because with GHMC elections, there would not be any change in government in Telangana but when it comes to the crucial Assembly polls, they want their party (TDP) to be a partner in Congress-led government and even if Mahakutami did not form the government, they want their party MLAs to raise their voice in Assembly.
Though the survey results were a tad discouraging, TRS and KCR are reportedly enthused as they hope that 20 lakh Seemandhra votes for TRS would fetch better results for TRS when compared with 2014 elections.
In 2014 elections, the TDP-BJP combine bagged 14 out of 24 seats in Hyderabad GHMC limits, while TRS got only three and MIM bagged 7.
Assuming that MIM will repeat its performance, KCR hopes to win around 10 to 12 seats in Hyderabad by winning 50% of the Seemandhra vote share. He has entrusted his son KTR with the responsibility for wooing the Seemandhra voters.
KTR has been holding special meetings with Seemandhra settlers in Hyderabad for the past one week, holding roadshows and assuring them that only TRS would ensure their safety and security in Hyderabad while TDP is trying to divide people based on regions with a conspiracy to damage the development and image of Hyderabad.
