Not long ago, reports emerged that Kollywood star Ajith Kumar would reunite with Good Bad Ugly director Adhik Ravichandran for his much-anticipated 64th film, tentatively referred to as #AK64. Prominent Telugu producer Anil Sunkara was expected to bankroll this big-budget entertainer.

However, the latest buzz suggests that the project has been put on the back burner due to budget constraints. Reports indicate that Ajith Kumar quoted a remuneration figure that reportedly created hurdles during financial discussions, pushing pre-production activities into uncertainty. After several rounds of negotiations, Anil Sunkara is said to have stepped away from the collaboration.

Amid speculation that a Tamil producer might take over the project, fresh reports hint at a new twist. Ajith’s long-time collaborator Siva (popularly known as Siruthai Siva) has reportedly entered the race to direct #AK64.

The Ajith–Siva combination previously delivered back-to-back commercial entertainers like Veeram, Vedalam, Vivegam, and Viswasam. Fans appreciated the way Siva showcased Ajith in mass-heavy roles packed with whistle-worthy moments.

Given their strong rapport, Ajith is reportedly keen to collaborate with Siva once again, even though the director’s recent film Kanguva did not perform well at the box office. If Ajith ultimately chooses Siva, it would be a setback for Adhik Ravichandran, who has openly expressed admiration for the star.

For now, both Adhik Ravichandran and Siruthai Siva remain in contention to helm Ajith’s next big venture. With no official confirmation from the actor or his team, uncertainty continues over who will finally take charge of #AK64.
