Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC and Telangana Jagruthi president Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s recent attempt to mend ties with her father, K. Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR), seems to have backfired.
On June 4, Kavitha staged a dharna at Indira Park protesting against the Justice Ghose Commission’s summons to KCR regarding the Kaleshwaram project irregularities. Ahead of KCR’s scheduled questioning, Kavitha tried to meet him at his Erravelli farmhouse on Wednesday. Accompanied by her husband Anil Kumar, she arrived early at the farmhouse but was reportedly not permitted inside immediately. She waited near KCR’s room as he descended from the upper floor via lift.
At that moment, KCR was preparing to leave for the Kaleshwaram Project Inquiry Commission hearing. Amidst this, BRS MLA Palla Rajeshwar Reddy met with an accident on the premises, causing a commotion as leaders rushed to assist and transport him to the hospital.
Shortly after, KCR exited his room and left for BRKR Bhavan with his convoy without acknowledging or speaking to Kavitha. Party sources mentioned that Kavitha greeted him with a “Good morning, Daddy,” but he did not respond.
While some BRS leaders later claimed that KCR was in a hurry to attend the commission hearing, others questioned why his own daughter was denied the chance to meet him when others were able to do so.
This marked Kavitha’s first visit to the farmhouse since the recent controversies, turning the incident into a hot topic within BRS circles. Adding fuel to the internal tensions, Telangana Jagruthi leaders accused the BRS social media team of deliberately editing out Kavitha from videos showing KCR’s departure from the farmhouse, despite her being present at the scene.
