Close on the heels of the media reports that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is going to meet US President Barack Obama during his visit to India on the eve of Republic Day, his “arch rival” and counterpart Telangana CM KCR is now chalking plans to Barack Obama’s “gracious visit” to Hyderabad. KCR had earlier directed officials to prepare a formal invitation for US President.
On the behalf of Telangana government, Principal Secretary Rajiv Sharma has already written a letter to US Embassy inviting Mr Obama to Hyderabad and a response is awaiting. Meanwhile, KCR’s son and IT Panchayat Raj Minister KTR has held a closed-door meeting with the US Consulate members in Hyderabad regarding Obama’s India trip. KTR reportedly asked US Consulate members to “try their best” and “put maximum efforts” to see to it that Obama visit Hyderabad.
Telangana government seems to have taken this prestigiously as they don’t want to give any chance to Opposition TDP to take dig at them.
