Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is more popular than superstar Aamir Khan and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, according to an online voting conducted by CNN-IBN. KCR is currently in the second position in the ‘Popular Choice’ category of the Indian of The Year- 2014 awards. Bollywood star Aamir, who is riding high with the success of PK, is confined to third position with over 1,14,175 “likes” on Facebook followed by NRDF (National Disaster Response Fund) which played pivotal role in last year’s Srinagar floods. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella is standing fifth in the list.
What’s striking is that KCR has got 18 per cent more votes than Aamir Khan. In fact, KCR ranking above Aamir Khan said to have come as a surprise to the channel CNN-IBN. Meanwhile, the one who is ranking top in this category is 1999 batch IPS Officer Mr P Vijayan. Vijayan is currently Deputy Inspector General of Police (Intelligence) of Kerala.
The CNN-IBN Indian of the Year is presented annually to various Indians for their work in their respective fields. The awards are presented in various categories of Politics, Sports, Business, Entertainment, Public Service and Global Indian. Considering that 2014 marks significant year in the history of Telangana and its crusader KCR, he’s heading in the race. Let’s wait and see.
