RGV’s Shocking Childhood Dream & New Film Syndicate

In a recent post, RGV revealed that when he was just around 10 years old, he dreamt of becoming an auto-rickshaw driver rather than a filmmaker. The fascination, he said, came purely from his love for the “vrooom-vroom” sound of the vehicle’s engine.

As he grew older, his aspirations kept evolving. At different stages of life, he wanted to live in a forest and later even considered becoming an engineer. Eventually, his journey took a decisive turn toward cinema.

RGV also reflected on the books and films that shaped his creative mindset. He credited authors like James Hadley Chase and Frederick Forsyth for influencing his storytelling sensibilities, along with iconic films such as The Sound of Music, The Exorcist, and The Godfather.

On the professional front, he revealed that instead of continuing with the Sarkar franchise, he is currently focused on a new project titled Syndicate. The film is based on a dark premise—imagining a scenario where law and order in India collapses within a single day.

Describing it as a “horror film without ghosts,” RGV said Syndicate will explore the terrifying depths of human nature when societal systems break down.

From dreaming of driving an auto-rickshaw to creating intense, unconventional cinema, Ram Gopal Varma’s journey continues to remain as unpredictable as his films.
