Vijay Deverakonda has been chasing a hit for quite some time now. Ever since Geetha Govindam in 2018, none of his films as a lead have managed to make a mark at the box office. Hopes were pinned on Kingdom, which showed some promise on its opening day. However, the momentum faded quickly, and by the second day, it was evident that the film couldn’t sustain interest. Ultimately, poor collections and lukewarm audience reception led Kingdom to join the list of Deverakonda’s recent disappointments.
Satyadev, known for his strong acting chops, is also yet to taste real commercial success. While critics often praise his performances, none of his recent films have turned into box-office blockbusters. Even with Kingdom, his talent couldn’t salvage the film’s fate, forcing him to wait longer for that much-needed breakthrough.
Bhagyashree Borse, the leading lady in Kingdom, failed to make an impression as well. Despite it being her second outing, her role lacked substance—offering little in terms of performance, glamour, or screen presence. The audience remained indifferent, and her character didn’t leave any lasting impact.
In the end, Kingdom turned out to be a missed opportunity for all three. What was expected to be a turning point became another addition to their string of underwhelming outings. Their search for a true breakthrough continues.
