The film collected an impressive share of ₹9.92 crore from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on its opening day—marking the biggest opening of Vijay’s career so far. With no major releases scheduled this week, Kingdom is expected to continue its solid run over the weekend.
Breaking down the collections (excluding GST): Telangana contributed ₹4.2 crore, Ceeded ₹1.70 crore, Uttarandhra ₹1.16 crore, Guntur ₹75 lakh, East Godavari ₹74 lakh, West Godavari ₹44 lakh, Krishna ₹59 lakh, and Nellore ₹34 lakh.
Strong promotional content, high anticipation, and Vijay Deverakonda’s popularity were key factors behind these massive openings. Despite a string of recent flops, Vijay has managed to sustain his star power, and Kingdom has reaffirmed his status as one of the most bankable tier-2 heroes in Telugu cinema.
The film’s plot revolves around a police constable who embarks on a secret mission to Sri Lanka as a spy in search of his estranged brother. Bhagyashri Bhorse plays the female lead, while Anirudh Ravichander has composed the film’s music.
