Vijay Deverakonda’s much-awaited film Kingdom continues to face delays, with its release being postponed multiple times in recent months. The reasons vary — from accommodating other big releases to pending post-production work.
The film was initially scheduled to release on July 25, but with Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hara Veera Mallu eyeing the July 24 slot, Kingdom is likely to be pushed to August, provided HHVM sticks to its planned date.
One of the key reasons for the delay appears to be music director Anirudh Ravichander, who is yet to complete his work for Kingdom. Adding to the challenge, Anirudh recently announced the final leg of his “Hukum” musical tour, which will be held on July 26 in Chennai. Meanwhile, he’s also working on Coolie, Superstar Rajinikanth’s next big release, slated for August 14. Given the tight schedule, Anirudh will need to wrap up both projects by the end of July.
To meet these timelines, he has to finish Kingdom’s music by July 20, or else the film could face further delays.
Producer Naga Vamsi has previously stated that Anirudh performs at his best when not pressured. In multiple interviews, Vamsi emphasized that quality matters more than deadlines, and he’s willing to wait if it means getting Anirudh’s top-notch output. Recently, he tweeted that the team is working round the clock to deliver a high-quality product and assured fans that Kingdom will offer an adrenaline-pumping cinematic experience.
The team also promised a new release date announcement soon, which will be revealed along with a teaser.
Directed by Gautam Tinnanuri of Jersey fame, Kingdom stars Bhagyashri Bhorse as the female lead and is shaping up to be a big-ticket action drama.
