In what it could be shocking to the cricketing world New Zealand speedster Lockie Ferguson was placed under isolation following the cricketer developing a sore throat at the end of the 1st One Day match against Australia played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
He was sent for a special isolation ward for 24 hours post him showing symptoms of COVID-19. The Kiwis team management has said that he will join the team once he clears the tests and tests positive for the virus.
“In accordance with recommended health protocols, Lockie Ferguson has been placed in isolation at the team hotel for the next 24hrs after reporting a sore throat at the end of the first ODI,” a New Zealand Cricket spokesman said.
“Once the Test results are received and diagnosed, his return to the team can be determined,” the spokesperson added.
He is not the first fast bowler to develop the symptoms of the novel coronavirus. Kane Richardson of Australia has cleared the coronavirus following his tests resulting in negative.
