Kodali Nani, senior leader of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and former MLA of Gudivada, is currently recuperating at his residence in Hyderabad following treatment for heart-related health issues in Mumbai. Sources indicate that Nani is contemplating traveling to the United States to seek more advanced medical care.
Since his return from Mumbai, Nani has maintained a low profile, limiting his interactions to a few close associates. Reports suggest that since the YSRCP lost power, he has distanced himself from his political base in Gudivada and has not been in contact with local supporters. There is speculation that concerns over potential legal proceedings may be contributing to his cautious approach and could be affecting his health.
During his tenure as a minister in the previous YSRCP government, which lasted for approximately two and a half years, Nani was noted for his outspoken and often confrontational remarks against the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), specifically targeting Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh. His language at times drew significant criticism for its aggressive tone.
The current TDP administration has leveled allegations against Nani, accusing him of involvement in various corruption cases during his ministerial tenure representing Gudivada. Vigilance authorities are reportedly investigating these claims thoroughly.
There is growing speculation that Nani aims to travel to the United States before any formal charges or cases are filed against him. However, government sources confirm that his movements are being closely monitored, and there is a possibility that he may face restrictions on international travel.
As the situation develops, it remains uncertain whether Kodali Nani’s plans for medical treatment abroad will materialize amid the ongoing political and legal scrutiny.
