Kohli’s Not The Reason For Our Loss – Dhoni

Dhoni

Indian Cricket team has lost the semi-final match at World Cup 2015 by a huge margin. They haven’t been able to bat out the complete 50 overs too. Though there were many reasons for the team’s loss, Virat Kohli’s failure is the most tagged and attributed one now. Virat has got out while he was trying to pull a bouncer and managed to score just 1 run in his 13 ball knock.

On the other hand, Indian captain Dhoni has defended the performance of his players including Kohli. “With such a huge target in front of us, we’ve to take some risks and Kohli got out in the same process of escalating the run-rate. Failures happen and I don’t want to make him the scapegoat now. Every one of us is equally responsible for the team’s exit in semi-final clash,” said Dhoni.

When asked about the situation in the dressing room before their run-chase, Dhoni mentioned that the team was confident to chase the 320+ target. “As soon as we lost our 3rd wicket, our chances of run-chase got vanished. Though this loss hurts us very much, the tournament has many positives for our team,” said Dhoni.

Dhoni has also cleared the air about his retirement by saying that he is still fit and running. So, we will be seeing Dhoni for some more time and let’s see if he can build the team before calling it quits!
