Koratala Siva’s Next on Hold Despite Devara Success

After scoring a massive hit with Devara: Part 1 in 2024, director Koratala Siva finds himself in an unexpected wait. Despite bouncing back from the failure of Acharya in style, the acclaimed filmmaker hasn’t been able to launch his next project even months later.

Currently, Koratala is focused on developing Devara 2. However, the sequel is likely to be delayed as its lead star Jr NTR is tied up with multiple big-ticket films. With War 2 slated for release on August 14 and NTR simultaneously shooting for his film with Prashanth Neel, the timeline for Devara 2 keeps extending.

Adding to the delay, NTR is expected to begin work on his much-anticipated mythological film with Trivikram Srinivas after the Prashanth Neel project. Even the producer of Devara, Kalyan Ram, confirmed that the sequel will only begin after NTR wraps up his current commitments. Industry buzz suggests that NTR is more inclined to prioritize Trivikram’s film next, further pushing Devara 2 down the line.

Meanwhile, Koratala Siva’s options to work on an interim project seem limited. Most top heroes are already occupied with their own lineups. Young stars like Vijay Deverakonda and Nani are unavailable, and insiders say Koratala isn’t keen on collaborating with anyone below a certain stardom threshold. His previous setback with a senior hero also seems to be holding him back from exploring that route again.

As a result, despite being at the peak of his form, Koratala Siva may have to endure a longer-than-expected wait before he can roll the cameras on his next venture. For now, the director remains in creative limbo — waiting for the stars, quite literally, to align.
