For this talented creative director, the metal Gold isn’t precious but a ‘golden’ film that taught many lessons always dances on the first frame of his mind. Krishna Vamsi talks about his ‘gold’ and how the precious ore like movie has helped him bringing out the best as a film maker. ‘I’ve watched this all time greatest classic Mackenna’s Gold nearly 70 times till today.
As director J Lee Thompson showcased the best of cinema in this 1969 adventure drama, I’ve learned how directors should think’, says Krishna Vamsi excitedly. ‘A bird-view shot from a falcon’s point of view, dialogues highlighting socio economic statuses of the society, first ever shown rope-bridge concept, horse sequences filmed without the support of steady-cams, graphics without computers are the wonders of this film’, he added.
The director of Chandamama and Govindudu Andarivadele pointed out how Mackenna’s Gold has shown for the first time a hero and villain travelling together in a movie from starting to end unlike our films where both hail from different places before their conflict.
Calling the flick as the best ever treat he watched on silver screen, Krsihna Vamsi revealed that he understood more about the flick after watching it along director Ram Gopal Varma.
