Kriti Shetty’s Tamil Career Faces Setbacks After Vaa Vathiyar & Delayed Debut

It takes immense effort for an actress to step onto a film set, embody a character, and leave a mark on the audience. Some heroines make a strong debut and enjoy early success, but maintaining momentum in the industry can be challenging. Kriti Shetty, who gained fame with Uppena, seems to be facing such a phase, with her Tamil film career yet to take off.

Her much-anticipated Tamil debut, Love Insurance Kompany, directed by Vignesh Shivan and produced by Pradeep Ranganathan, has faced repeated delays. Initially slated for release last year, then for Sankranthi, the film was later promoted as a Valentine’s Day special. However, despite the hype, the film has yet to make any significant impact.

Meanwhile, Kriti’s second Tamil outing, Karthi’s Vaa Vathiyar, released during Pongal, failed to impress both critics and audiences. Even her small role in the film did not leave an impact, and the movie’s OTT release also failed to generate significant buzz. It appears the Tamil film industry has yet to provide Kriti with a breakthrough, at a time when a hit is most needed to establish her presence.
