KTR and Jagan Echo Each Other on EVM Concerns

In recent times, political observers have noted striking similarities between the strategies of YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR). Both leaders have been vocal critics of the ruling NDA and Congress, warning of political repercussions once they return to power.

Now, the duo seems to have found yet another common ground — their stance on Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). Echoing YS Jagan’s repeated concerns over the reliability of EVMs, KTR raised similar objections during a public address last night.

“There are growing doubts about the operational effectiveness of EVMs. Many are questioning the transparency and reliability of this system. We urge the Election Commission to consider reverting to the paper ballot system and put an end to EVM usage,” KTR said.

These remarks closely mirror what Jagan has been asserting in his recent statements, reinforcing a synchronised narrative emerging from both regional parties.

What’s raising eyebrows is not just the shared rhetoric but the seemingly coordinated approach both leaders are taking — especially in the lead-up to upcoming elections. The level of alignment in their political messaging has become increasingly noticeable and, to some, even uncanny.

However, leaders from both the NDA and Congress have dismissed these allegations, pointing out that neither Jagan nor KTR raised objections to EVMs when they secured victories in previous elections through the same system.

As the debate over electoral integrity resurfaces, the convergence of views between two prominent southern leaders is drawing significant attention across political circles.
