IT minister and son of KCR, K.T.Rama Rao is leading TRS from the front for ensuing GHMC elections, while another key leader T.Harish Rao is confined to his home district Medak. KTR is seen everywhere in the city every day. Be it launching of development works in city like roads etc or in bringing Godavari water to city, KTR is hogging the limelight. TRS party sources said his father and TRS chief KCR had asked KTR to be the only ‘party’s face’ for GHMC polls and want all other leaders only to assist KTR in this regard giving clear indications that KTR will be his heir apparent after he hangs over the boots sometime after 2019 Assembly elections.
Harish Rao, who was once considered to be the man in race for CM’s post after KCR, too is said to be slowly reconciling to the fact that he had to remain No.2 even for KTR, when he takes over reins after 2019. It is for this reason, Harish is confining himself to Medak and Siddipet and even if he is is Hyderabad, he is confining to his irrigation minister duties in Secretariat. KTR’s prowess in government reached to such an extent that he is conducting review meetings with officials of all departments directly and ministers concerned too are not informed about this. He is even taking care of minority affairs department with his eye on Muslim vote bank setting aside Deputy CM Mohd Mahmood Ali, who holds minority portfolio.
