KTR’s Snub as Revanth Greets KCR Sparks Social Media Debate

Share

An interesting political moment unfolded in the Telangana Assembly today with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Opposition Leader K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) coming face to face. KCR’s visit to the Assembly premises was brief, lasting barely ten minutes, but it has triggered a wider discussion on social media.

The spotlight, however, has shifted to what followed during the interaction. When Chief Minister Revanth Reddy approached KCR at the designated area, he greeted him warmly and enquired about his health, displaying political courtesy and maturity. In response, most leaders seated on the BRS side stood up as a mark of respect for both the former Chief Minister and the sitting CM.

However, videos circulating on social media show that BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), who was seated in the background, chose not to stand up or acknowledge Revanth Reddy during the interaction. Along with him, BRS MLA Kaushik Reddy also appeared to ignore the Chief Minister’s gesture.

This visual has now become a talking point online, with Congress supporters criticizing KTR’s conduct and calling it discourteous. They argue that while Revanth Reddy demonstrated dignity and statesmanship by personally greeting KCR, KTR’s decision to remain seated reflected political arrogance and a lack of basic courtesy.

The clip showing KTR and Kaushik Reddy’s reaction — or the lack of it — is now gaining traction across social media platforms, further fueling the political debate around decorum, respect, and changing power equations in Telangana politics.
