TDP National Committee President Chandrababu Naidu had reportedly agreed to allot one MLC seat to his son and party national General Secretary N Lokesh in the biennial elections to be held in March in Andhra Pradesh.
The politburo meeting forwarded the proposal to give MLC post to Lokesh before elevating him as minister in Naidu’s cabinet. Initially, the party Chief did not accept the proposal on the grounds that several senior leaders are vying for MLC post in the Legislative Council. However, the leaders convinced Naidu at the end of the meeting.
party leaders have been insisting the chief minister to rope Lokesh into the state administration in view of increased work pressure on Naidu since months. Speculations are doing rounds that Lokesh will be inducted in the cabinet on Ugadi festival and be given IT and Municipal Administration and Industry portfolios to the young leader in the party.
