According to long-rumoured reports, Apple is all ready to take the curtains off the iPhone 7 Plus this year. The latest news from the rumour mills indicated that the camera module on the new device will be manufactured and supplied by LG Innotek, as per sources quoted by Business Korea.
According to the report, LG Innotek will exclusively supply the dual camera module for Apple’s iPhone 7 Plus, which is expected to make its debut by next year. It also pointed out that LG will start shipping the dual camera module starting this month. Earlier reports suggested that Sony was tasked with delivering the camera modules but the company reconsidered its decision, announcing that it was quitting the high-end camera module business in May.While the iPhone 7 Plus will have a dual camera module setup, the iPhone 7 will have the usual single camera module with OIS.
Rumoured specifications
Users might also be interested to know that the upcoming Plus version of the iPhone 7 packs a usual 5.5-inch screen and two 12MP cameras on the rear panel. The flagship smartphone is expected to come along with 3GB RAM, with three storage options—32GB, 128GB, and 256GB.As lucrative as it sounds, these are just rumours and nothing concrete can be confirmed yet.
In terms of the iPhone 7, rumours suggested that the device will pack a 4.7-inch screen and will arrive in three storage variants—16GB, 64GB, and 128GB. Some analysts and tech bloggers have also suggested that the device will come along with a 21MP primary camera.
