Lokesh Reprimands Marshals for Overstepping in Andhra Assembly

The monsoon Assembly sessions have commenced in Andhra Pradesh, and the first day witnessed extensive discussions on several public policies. However, an unusual incident outside IT Minister Lokesh’s chamber drew attention.

During a media briefing by MLA Dhulipala Narendra about the day’s proceedings, a group of marshals arrived and attempted to disperse the crowd. In the process, they reportedly laid hands on MLA Narendra, prompting a heated exchange.

Observing the commotion, Lokesh stepped out and reprimanded the marshals for their overreach. “Do you think we are still under the tyranny of the YCP government? There is no need to restrict access for MLAs and public representatives. Your job is only to ensure that no one without a pass enters the premises. Don’t overstep by trying to control or pacify MLAs,” Lokesh stated firmly.

During the previous YCP government, marshals were often used to physically restrict movement within the Assembly. In contrast, the current NDA government has adopted a more liberal approach, and Lokesh’s intervention highlighted this shift in Assembly practices, ensuring a more open environment for lawmakers.
