Mass layoffs are not just confined to the IT sector alone. Maa TV, which turned as Star Maa after Star group acquired it, said to have sacked 80 of its senior-most employees. People in various senior positions have been asked to quit their jobs and handover their Employee ID cards and leave the office immediately.
This said to have come as a major shocker to its employees who have been working long for the company over 7 years on average.
Ever since Star Maa took over, there have been rumours of the layoffs of old employees. However, the transition of Maa TV to Star Maa reportedly had a clause not to sack the existing employees for certain period. It’s learnt that the period has been completed and Star group said to have voted to fire the old employees.
Despite great planning, Star Maa is not able to deliver as expected. Even the most anticipated Chiru’s Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu has failed to meet the expectations. Now Star Maa is keen on more productive employees and buzz is that it may hire new employees in the old positions depending on the actual requirement.
The decision has come as a shocker days ahead of its most popular Big Boss Telugu with Jr NTR as the host.
