Hombale Films, one of South India’s most dynamic production houses, has built a strong reputation for mounting films on a grand scale. After delivering blockbusters like KGF and Salaar, the banner has now ventured into a whole new arena—animation. Their maiden attempt, Mahavatar Narsimha, is turning out to be a resounding success and is already being hailed as the Bhakta Prahlada for Gen Z.
Devotional stories have always had a loyal audience, but the challenge for today’s filmmakers lies in presenting these timeless tales in a way that resonates with modern viewers. Retelling a well-known story, such as the avatar of Lord Narasimha Swamy, demands both innovation and faithfulness to tradition—and Hombale seems to have struck that fine balance.
For decades, Roja Ramani’s Bhakta Prahlada remained the definitive cinematic portrayal of this legend, and no one dared to revisit it. Now, Hombale Films, in collaboration with Kleem Productions, has taken a bold step by recreating the epic through high-quality 3D animation. The result? Younger audiences are falling in love with the story all over again, while families too are finding it deeply engaging.
With Mahavatar Narsimha setting the stage, this marks just the beginning of a new era of mythological animated films from Hombale Films.
