Proving that he has a heart of gold, Superstar Mahesh Babu announced that he is adopting two villages in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana respectively. Keeping his word, Mahesh on Wednesday stated that he is adopting Burripalem in Guntur district of AP and another village (not yet decided) from Mahbubnagar district of Telangana.
Making a formal announcement on his micro-blogging page, Mahesh stated that he was touched by AP CM Chandrababu Naidu’s brainchild Smart Village and it prompted him to adopt Burripalem village. He also credited his brother-in-law and Guntur MP Galla Jaydev for supporting him in making this reality. This is not all.
Mahesh further stated that he was humbled with the accolades from Telangana IT and Panchayat Raj Minister KT Rama Rao. The scion of Ghattamaneni said he’s adopting a village in Telangana’s most backward district Mahbubnagar as part of Telangana government’s Gram Jyothi initiative.
Mahesh said he’s convinced to adopt a village in Mahbubnagar upon Mr KTR’s suggestion. He said he is in position to be socially responsible and contribute to society. Mahesh concluded by saying Srimanthudu is special film for him which earned him respect and made him more human.
Mahesh’s latest offing Srimanthudu, which has a promising story line of wealthy youngster adopting a village, received critical acclaim as well as commercial access. Released on Aug 7, the movie shattered several box office records and set cash registers ringing at Box Office.
