This morning, popular film and entertainment magazine Filmfare listed out the nominations for its south edition. When the enthusiastic fans of several stars checked out their favorites heroes’ names, the missing of one particular hero’s name in the nominations has been creating a huge furor on social media with nonstop bashing of the jury that claimed to have chosen the nominations through public voting.
For the Best Actor (Male) Category, Mahesh Babu’s name was fond missing while young actors like Sharwanand and Nikhil too found their places. While both the young stars’ nomination is praiseworthy, it has become an indigestible bitter pill for many who believed that Mahesh’s emotionally intense performance in 1 Nenokkadine should have been honoured with a nomination.
Released during Sankranthi last year, 1 Nenokkadine was a damp squib at the box-office. However, Mahesh stood as the only saving grace for the film, with his never seen before emotionally charged acting. The Superstar’s acting during the film’s pre-climax and climax scenes were outstanding and attained huge appreciation from fans and critics.
