The Malayalam film industry is currently embroiled in a drug-related controversy, following a high-profile arrest that has stirred up significant attention. Director Khalid Rahman, best known for his hit film Alipuzha Jinkhana, has been arrested alongside fellow director Ashraf Hamza and a third individual, Shalif Mohammed, in connection with a drug case.
The arrests occurred around 2 AM, when the Kerala police raided an apartment near Gosree Bridge in Kochi, owned by cinematographer Sameer Thahir. During the raid, the authorities discovered 1.6 grams of hybrid marijuana, which has led to the serious charges.
