The Malayalam film industry is currently embroiled in a drug-related controversy, following a high-profile arrest that has stirred up significant attention. Director Khalid Rahman, best known for his hit film Alipuzha Jinkhana, has been arrested alongside fellow director Ashraf Hamza and a third individual, Shalif Mohammed, in connection with a drug case.

The arrests occurred around 2 AM, when the Kerala police raided an apartment near Gosree Bridge in Kochi, owned by cinematographer Sameer Thahir. During the raid, the authorities discovered 1.6 grams of hybrid marijuana, which has led to the serious charges. The trio has since been granted station bail, but due to the gravity of the charges, they may face further legal repercussions.

The raid was reportedly based on a well-planned operation following a secret tip-off, and it has quickly become the center of controversy within the Malayalam film industry. This incident comes just after a similar uproar involving actor Shine Tom Chacko, who was forced to issue a public apology following accusations made by actress Vincy. The film association has already warned Chacko that any future mistakes could lead to a ban from the industry.

This situation highlights the increasing concern over the misuse of drugs within the film industry, and it remains to be seen how the legal proceedings will unfold.
