The much-anticipated teaser of Patriot, starring Malayalam superstars Mammootty and Mohanlal, has finally been released. On Thursday, the makers unveiled the teaser in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, hinting at an intense narrative centered on two individuals “who once controlled the country together.”
The teaser opens with a mysterious voiceover introducing the lead characters, who wield immense influence over people through “faith.” It then moves to Mammootty’s character, seemingly on a secret mission, with Mohanlal joining him as an armed forces soldier. The plot thickens with Fahadh Faasil’s entry, escalating the complex power struggles. Audiences also get glimpses of Nayanthara, Kunchacko Boban, and Revathy in key roles.
Packed with politics, espionage, power dynamics, and emotional layers, the teaser ends with Mammootty posing a provocative question: “Great Indian Traitor or Patriot?” While the storyline remains under wraps, the visuals indicate a politically charged drama led by the two legendary actors.
Fans were quick to react to the teaser, with one praising, “This is how Malayalam cinema brings together its two legends on screen again. No slow-motion gimmicks. Written and directed by Mahesh Narayanan, Patriot is produced by Anto Joseph and KG Anil Kumar under the banner of Anto Joseph Productions. The teaser comes after Mammootty’s brief hiatus from shooting. Sharing a post on Instagram, the actor wrote: “Back to doing what I love most in life after a short break. Words aren’t enough to thank everyone who checked on me during my absence. The camera is calling.”
Producer Anto Joseph also shared updates about the superstar’s next shooting schedule in Hyderabad. Details about the film’s plot and release date are yet to be revealed.
