Manchu Vishnu recently interacted with the media to discuss his much-anticipated film Kannappa, directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh. The movie features a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Madhoo, and Mohanlal. Vishnu is upbeat about the film’s prospects and shared that the advance bookings have been tremendous, with over 1,15,000 tickets sold in the first 24 hours — a feat he described as “Siva Leela.”

Vishnu spoke candidly about his interactions with the censor board, which had some objections — especially concerning the North Indian audiences who may be unfamiliar with Kannappa’s story. “While this story is well-known in the South, it’s new to them. They raised a few concerns about certain dialogues and scenes,” Vishnu explained. However, after detailed discussions, they agreed to make minor changes without compromising the film’s authenticity.

On ticket pricing, Vishnu noted that while the Andhra Pradesh government allowed a ₹50 hike, he has decided against increasing ticket prices in Telangana. “We will hike prices only when theaters cut down on beverage and snack prices,” he quipped.

Though Prabhas will not be attending the pre-release event due to his busy schedule, Vishnu acknowledged the star’s invaluable role, with almost 40 minutes of screen time in Kannappa. “Prabhas and Mohanlal’s presence enables us to give this film a grand pan-India release,” Vishnu stated.

Additionally, Vishnu hopes to screen Kannappa for Pawan Kalyan and get his feedback. “He’s my senior in the industry and his opinion matters to me,” Vishnu said. He also released a heartfelt letter to reviewers, emphasizing his respect for honest critiques while urging everyone to refrain from fake reviews.

The actor concluded by expressing joy that his father and kids have acted in the film. “This is a special film for me, and I hope it becomes a grand success,” Vishnu added.
