Malayalam Film Production Controller Kannan Pattambi Passes Away

Malayalam film production controller and supporting actor Kannan Pattambi passed away late Sunday night, industry sources confirmed on Monday. He was the younger brother of noted filmmaker Major Ravi.

Announcing the demise on his Facebook page, Major Ravi wrote, “My beloved younger brother, Kannan Pattambi, a film production controller, attained his heavenly abode last night at 11.41 pm. The cremation will be held today (Monday) at 4.00 pm at our family residence in Njangattiri, Pattambi. Om Shanti.”

Kannan Pattambi had a long association with the Malayalam film industry and contributed to numerous acclaimed and commercially successful films. He was part of popular projects such as Pulimurugan, Ananthabhadram, Odiyan, Keerthichakra, Vettam, Crazy Gopalan, Kandahar, Thanthra, and 12th Man.

Apart from his appearances as a supporting actor, Kannan was widely respected for his work in production management. As a production controller, he worked closely with several leading filmmakers, including Major Ravi, Shaji Kailas, V.K. Prakash, Santosh Sivan, K.J. Bose, Anil Medayil, and others.

The FEFKA Directors’ Union and several members of the Malayalam film fraternity have expressed deep sorrow over his demise, remembering him as a dedicated professional and a warm colleague.
