However, discussions did not progress as expected. According to industry sources, Akshaye Khanna is said to have quoted a remuneration of ₹15 crore. Along with the fee, he reportedly placed a strict condition — that he would appear on screen only while wearing a wig. This demand is said to have surprised many producers.

Interestingly, this is not the first time such a condition has come up. During earlier discussions for Drishyam 3, the actor was reportedly particular about wearing a wig, despite continuity concerns from Drishyam 2. Due to the mismatch, the makers are said to have reconsidered moving forward with him.

Sources suggest that Akshaye Khanna considers the wig his lucky charm and prefers not to appear without it. While his acting talent continues to command immense respect, these conditions have now become a significant talking point within the Telugu film industry.
